Description:  The conservation status of the bat species in the Wellington region has been assessed by an expert panel. Two bat species were identified as being present in the region, both being assessed as Regionally Threatened (regionally Critical). A third bat species is classified as being regionally Extinct. Recommendations for conservation activities for bats include the protection of known roost sites from predators and survey priorities.
